The Revelation of Jesus Christ to the 7 Churches In Asia

Revelation 1:10-13, 18

imgresThe Apostle John, in Revelation 1:10 said, I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.  We have to purpose to be in the spirit every day and to live from there.  We can function in both the spiritual realm and in the earth realm at the same time because we have access to the heavenly realm through Jesus Christ.  Count every day as the Lord’s day.  We are seated in heavenly places in Jesus Christ at the right hand of God.

John heard a voice behind him saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

He says, And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

This is the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ speaking to John.  He is the Head and we are his Body.  He gives the commands and we follow them.  He had seven stars in his right hand which are the angels of the seven churches.  The seven candelsticks are the seven churches.  Out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Before Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, after his resurrection, he taught the disciples the gospel of the Kingdom of God.  After Jesus ascended, the leaders of the seven churches allowed the enemy, Satan, to infiltrate in various ways and cause what He had established, taught and commanded them to become mixed with evil.  They began to follow the ways of man and not God.  Now, through John the Apostle, He is sending a message to each of the seven churches.  Jesus Christ tells them what the problem is, gives them space to repent, and not only provides Himself as the solution, but also tells them their reward for doing so.

Good Ground – The Kingdom of God In You

When the Pharisees questioned Jesus in Luke 17:20-21 as to when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God doesn’t come with observation.  You won’t be able to say here it is or there it is. For, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Psalm 23:1-6

Part I  Provision

THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

gardenresJust as God planted the garden of Eden and provided man with plenty before he put him there to dress it and to keep it, God promised to supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  In Philippians 4:19 Paul said, My God shall supply…If THE LORD is not your God, you will not be able to say, I shall not want.  In John 10:11 Jesus said, I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  THE LORD God sent his Son Jesus into the world, not to condemn the world, but to be the Savior of the world.  (I John 4:14, John 3:16-17)  Make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life (Salvation) and refuse to allow want (lack) in your life by hearing, believing and receiving the word of God in your heart, protecting that word received in your heart by meditating it and saying the same thing until it manifests in your life.

Part II  A Place of Rest and Peace

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

streamThe LORD feeds, leads and guides me.  Psalm 36:7-8 says that the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.  John 10:27-30 say Jesus’ sheep hear his voice, he knows them and they follow him.  He gives them eternal life and they shall never perish. He and his Father are one.  Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.  Hebrews 4:9-10 say, There remains a rest for the people of God. Cease from your own works as God did from his and enter into his rest.  In John 14:27 Jesus says, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you…Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Part III  Restoration and Righteousness

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

righteousnessThe law of the LORD is perfect, converting (restoring) the soul; (Psalm 19:7)  Our soul prospers as we walk in the truth of the word. (III John 2-3)  We are commanded to love the LORD with all our heart, soul and mind. (Matthew 22:37).  Loving God is trusting him in every way and for everything spiritually and naturally.  For his name’s sake, he leads us in righteousness making the way straight before us. (Psalm 5:8)  The kingdom of God in you is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17)  Proverbs 11:18 tells us, the desire of the righteous is only good.  By Jesus Christ, those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life.  Grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.  (Romans 5:17, 21)

Part IV  Protection – No Fear

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

protectionGod has given us the spirit of love, of power and of a sound mind therefore we must refuse to allow the spirit of fear to enter in at any time. (II Timothy 1:7, Psalm 3:6) No matter what the enemy uses to come against us, God’s rod of protection and his staff guides and comforts us.  You have been redeemed and called by God’s name.  When you pass through the waters God will be with you.  When you walk through the fire it will not burn you.  The rivers will not overflow you and the fire will not even kindle upon you. (Isaiah 43:1-2) When you pass through the valley with no fear, trusting God, he will cause you to pass through the waste land of desolation and making it a well where the rain also fills the pools.  When we walk with God, there is total restoration in our lives and the lives of others. (Psalm 84:5-7)

Part V Assignment – The Kingdom of God in you, planted as a seed into the world

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.

tableresGod has given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness.  We go knowing that we have all things in the spirit to manifest the blessings of God in the world as we do his will. In Psalm 82:1-6 God asks us, how long will we judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked?  Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.  Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.  Psalm 89:13-15 tells us that God’s arm is mighty.  Justice and judgment are the habitation of his throne and mercy and truth go before his face.  As we walk as kings and priests in the light of his countenance allowing grace to reign through righteousness, we are blessed to know the joyful sound.  We praise God with the sound of victory as we manifest the kingdom of God in the world. (I Peter 2:9, Psalm 5:11-12)

Part VI  Anointed with Power and The Blessing of the LORD

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

cupofblessingsresJesus being full of the Holy Ghost, began his ministry by reading what was written of him in Isaiah 61:1-2aActs 10:38 and Luke 4:18-19 describes how God anointed Jesus to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.  Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law so that the blessing of Abraham would come upon us through him.  By faith, we can receive the promise of the Spirit. (Galatians 3:13-14)  Anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit, under the protection of God, we follow his leading as we go into all the world working the works of God in the name of Jesus. (I Corinthians 4:20) Our cup of blessing runs over because we are blessed to be a blessing to all the nations of the world.  Through the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, they have redemption and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace. (Acts 1:8, Mark 16:15-18, I Corinthians 10:15-17, Ephesians 1:7)

Part VII  Victory, Ground taken, Occupy til I come

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

houseoflord The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.  Ephesians 5:9 says, The fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.  Isaiah 32:17-18 tells us, And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.  And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;  Philippians 1:9-12 says that our love must abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment that we may prove things that differ.  We are to be sincere and without offence til the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness unto the glory and praise of God.  In I Corinthians 15:23-25 we are told that Christ must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet.  When he has delivered up the kingdom to God the Father, Revelation 11:15 says, the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Luke 19:13 …Occupy till I come.
