The Revelation of Jesus Christ to the Seven Churches In Asia

Revelation 1:10-13, 18

The Apostle John, in Revelation 1:10 said, I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.  We have to purpose to be in the spirit every day and to live from there.  We can function in both the spiritual realm and in the earth realm at the same time because we have access to the heavenly realm through Jesus Christ.  Count every day as the Lord’s day.  We are seated in heavenly places in Jesus Christ at the right hand of God.

John heard a voice behind him saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

He says, And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

This is the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ speaking to John.  He is the Head and we are his Body.  He gives the commands and we follow them.  He had seven stars in his right hand which are the angels of the seven churches.  The seven candelsticks are the seven churches.  Out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Before Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, after his resurrection, he taught the disciples the gospel of the Kingdom of God.  After Jesus ascended, the leaders of the seven churches allowed the enemy, Satan, to infiltrate in various ways and cause what He had established, taught and commanded them to become mixed with evil.  They began to follow the ways of man and not God.  Now, through John the Apostle, He is sending a message to each of the seven churches.  Jesus Christ tells them what the problem is, gives them space to repent, and not only provides Himself as the solution, but also tells them their reward for doing so.
